Kiln dried Soft Maple lumber is imported from America and European countries in intact packing.Soft Maple has a cream white sapwood with a tinge of light reddish brown. The heartwood color varies from light red to dark red. Soft Maple has a fine texture, close and straight grains, sometimes wavy and burl. The wood may have some unsound knots on the surface.
Soft Maple is stiff and heavy. It has a good shock resistance, excellent frictional resistance and abrasion resistance. Soft Maple is easy for steam-bending.
The heartwood is rated as non-durable to perishable to decay. The sapwood is easily attacked by normal woodworms and borers. Soft Maple's heartwood cannot take preservative, but the sapwood can.
